Chasing Babies and Jesus: Finding Faith in the Chaos of Motherhood

Motherhood is beautiful, exhausting, holy, and downright messy — often all in the same hour. Between nappies, sticky fingers, endless snacks, and bedtime battles, it can feel impossible to find time for God. But the truth is, He isn’t asking us for perfection; He’s asking for presence. Even in the chaos, you can chase both babies and Jesus — and discover He’s already chasing after you.

Invite Jesus Into The Everyday Chaos

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” — Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Faith doesn’t have to be confined to quiet time with coffee and a candle. God is just as present in the playroom as He is in the prayer room. Sing worship songs while folding laundry. Whisper prayers as you rock your baby to sleep. Let your children hear you talk about Jesus in the car and at the dinner table. These little moments plant seeds that will last longer than you realize.

Remember: Small Moments Matter

“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.” — Isaiah 40:11

Some days you may only manage a 30-second prayer. Other days you’ll read a whole Psalm. Both matter. God isn’t measuring you by how long you spend with Him, but by your heart’s desire to draw near. He promises to gently lead mothers — even when you’re stumbling through exhaustion.

Model Faith Through Ordinary Life

“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’” — Matthew 19:14

Kids don’t just learn from Bible stories — they learn from watching how you live. When they see you pray over a scraped knee, say sorry when you lose your temper, or sing “Jesus Loves Me” as you tuck them in, you’re showing them faith that’s real. You don’t need to have it all together; you just need to show them where to run when life gets messy — straight to Jesus.
