TRUST IN THE NEXT STEP - Proverbs 3:5-6

TRUST IN THE NEXT STEP - Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6

There are seasons where you want a full plan. You want to know what is coming next. You want answers before you move. That is normal. But it can also be exhausting, because life does not always give clear signs.

This verse meets us right there. It tells us to trust God with our whole heart, even when our understanding feels small.

Leaning on your own understanding can look like this. You replay conversations in your head. You try to predict what people will do. You try to control the outcome. You search for certainty, but it never feels like enough.

God invites you into a different way. Trust Me.

Trust does not mean you stop thinking. Trust means you stop acting like you are the only one who can figure it out. Trust means you place your life in God’s hands again and again, even when you feel unsure.

It also says, in all your ways submit to Him. That means you invite God into every part of your life. Not just Sunday. Not just the big moments. The small ones too. Your work. Your friendships. Your choices. Your habits. Your time.

Then God promises this. He will make your paths straight.

That does not mean life becomes easy. It means God will guide you. He will keep leading you forward. He will help you take the next right step.

This week, you might be waiting for clarity. You might be feeling stuck. If that is you, let this verse bring peace. You do not need the whole map. You need the next step. God will meet you there.

Trust grows when you practice it. One choice at a time. One prayer at a time. One day at a time. Prayer: God, help me trust You with my whole heart. When I feel unsure, guide my next step. Lead me in Your way. Amen.
